Hesperetin after dehydration of hesperidin has the effect of preventing age-related cataract



Recently, the “9th Research Presentation” of the new research and discovery of Hesperidin was organized by the Japanese Hesperidin Research Association in Tokyo in early December 2017.

At this meeting, Nakazawa Yosuke, an assistant professor at the Department of Pharmacy at Keio University in Japan, made a presentation and disclosed the results of research on the efficacy of Hesperetin in the prevention of age-related cataracts after desmolysis of hesperidin.

In the study, the researchers subcutaneously injected Hesperetin into test rats with cataract and compared them with rats that had not been injected with Hesperetin.

As a result, it was found that compared with the control group, the opacity in the eye crystal of the test mouse injected with Hesperetin was significantly delayed, and the decrease of the anti-oxidation substance such as reduced glutathione in the crystal was suppressed, thereby effectively suppressing the process of cataracts.

In addition, the mice in the experimental group also maintained the destruction of crystal clear protein crystallins, which means that the guiding activity of protein condensation in the crystals is maintained, and it also helps to inhibit the progression of cataracts.
